Woman, 60, robbed while waiting for a bus in South Yorkshire

Detectives in Barnsley have said a woman had her handbag stolen outside the Travellers Inn on Sheffield Road, Birdwell, just after midnight on Sunday, March 5.

Police say the woman and her husband were stood at the bus stop when a small, dark coloured car pulled up alongside them.

A man, who was sat in the back of the car, is then said to have got out and snatched the woman’s handbag from her, causing her to stumble and fall, before driving away.

The man is described as white, about 5ft 9ins tall, in his early 20s, of average build, with short dark brown hair and a broad nose.

He is described as wearing grey oversized jogging trousers with tight elasticated ankles and a short, dark padded bomber style jacket and dark trainers.
