Woman, 22, fights for life after Sheffield crash

A young woman has spent three days fighting for life in hospital after she was involved in a road crash in Sheffield.

The 22-year-old was driving a black Ford Focus when it was involved in a smash with a silver Vauxhall Insignia in Soughley Lane, between Wortley and Deepcar, at around 4.35pm on Friday.

A man who was driving the other car was unhurt.

The 22-year-old remains in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital where she is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesman said: “The woman, from Sheffield, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she remains.

“It is thought that the 56-year-old man who was driving the Insignia was unhurt.”

Police are now investigating the collision and urging anybody who saw the crash to come forward to help.
