Witness appeal: Two injured in Sheffield collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Sheffield in which two cyclists were seriously injured.

A tandem bicycle, being ridden by a 52-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, was involved in a collision with a silver Ford Fiesta just before 11am today.

The incident occured at Bramall Lane, Sheffield, near to the junction with Queens Road.

Both the man and woman, who were riding the bike, have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services responded to the incident. It has since been re-opened.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision. Anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 474 of 19 October.
