Witness appeal after armed robbery in South Yorkshire bookmakers

Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed man is reported to have threatened staff in a bookmakers in South Yorkshire.

At around 7.45pm on Monday 7 November it is reported that an unknown man, whose face was covered, entered the Betfred bookmakers in Browning Road, Rotherham.

It is believed he threatened staff and appeared to have something in his hands, though it has not been confirmed he had a weapon.

The man left the store with a quantity of cash, where a second unknown man with his face covered was reportedly holding open the door.

The first man is described as being around 6ft tall and is believed to be in his early 20s.

The second man was wearing a dark mask and dark clothing.

It is also thought that the men may have used a vehicle to flee the scene and this may have been nearby.
