'Withdrawn features' man tried to steal expensive coats from Derbyshire shop

A man described as having 'withdrawn features' tried to steal a number of costly coats.

At about 4.15pm last Thursday, a man entered the Go Outdoors shop on Main Road, Hathersage.

As he began to browse the items, he picked up a number of high value coats and jackets before fleeing the store.

The man was challenged by Go Outdoors staff then dropped the clothing outside the shop and got into a waiting white Ford Transit van.

The van drove off in the direction of Sheffield.

Police said the man was described as having a dark complexion and had withdrawn features. He was about 5ft 10in tall and of slight build. He wore a black hat, a blue waterproof coat and blue denim jeans.
