Winter home emergencies cause job headaches in Sheffield

Have your say

New research from British Gas revealed 29 per cent of people working in Sheffield have had to call in sick, take unplanned holiday or arrive late to deal with winter-related home emergencies.

On average, workers in the city take two hours off each year to deal with such things as burst pipes and broken boilers. One in 10 worry it may prevent a pay rise, promotion or risk their job.
