WINNERS amid the latest wave of retail casualties are charity shops – the British Heart Foundation is reporting record growth.
In the last financial year its shops saw an 18 per cent rise in profit compared to the previous year, netting more than £26m.
This compares to £10m a decade ago.
The BHF has 685 shops and has record expansion plans. Some 31 new premises opening on high streets last year.
A further 45 are expected to open within this financial year.
