A STUDY into wind turbines in Barnsley is to be presented to councillors.
Barnsley Council’s Physical Sustainability Scrutiny Commission has looked into advantages and disadvantages of the structures, which are being put up in increasing numbers on moorland in the west of the area.
The report will be discussed at a council meeting from 2pm on Thursday, September 27, in the Town Hall Council Chamber.
Councillors and officials say the turbines can play a ‘role in promoting green energy production’ but have also looked into the impact they have on local landscapes and local residents.
The commission now wants to hear from interested groups and organisations on their views about wind turbines .
