Willie front up now?

It's always interesting to speculate on why some people who write to the Star feel the need to hide behind an alias.

Take, for example, Willie Everlearn – I imagine he thinks that is clever when, really, it is both threatening and patronising. Is he too much of a coward to “front up” or is he, as I suspect, someone who has written in the past under his own name and aliases and doesn’t want us to know that?

If his name is meant to be taken literally, the answer is a resounding NO! There is absolutely nothing that I would wish to learn from the likes of him.

If he wishes to appear even marginally intelligent, I suggest that he might try to improve his literacy. I didn’t say that most people are too stupid to be trusted to vote in a referendum (although I will make an exception in his case) I said that politicians will only trust people with referenda on subjects they choose and which, as in the case of the EU referendum, they think they will win.

I am reconciled to the outcome of the EU referendum because I believe that we Remainers now have the upper hand.

As Willie Everlearn says, it is up to Theresa (get him!) and her Cabinet to deliver Brexit.

Meanwhile, those of us (virtually half in the case of Sheffield) who voted Remain can sit back and watch the train crash that it will undoubtedly be, smug in the knowledge that we didn’t call for it.
