The Owls represent Hector's fourth different club in as many seasons and the Championship are the defender's 15th loan spell of his career.

Hector, drafted in on a season long-loan from Chelsea at the end of August, has yet to make a senior appearance for the Premier League giants since arriving from Reading in a £4m deal three years ago. The 26-year-old has also enjoyed temporary stints at Eintracht Frankfurt and Hull City respectively.

He told The Star: "Most of the loans were earlier in my career, month to month, so professionally I have not had that many loans.

"For me, it's a great challenge. Each loan I go on I come back a stronger person, and it's always a learning experience.

"Sometimes it's not what I have always expected it to be, but I have always learned from it.

"More recently, it's different cultures and countries. When I first started it was mainly English players, very old-fashioned, but the way the changing room is now it's modern."

The commanding centre-half has flourished since moving to Hillsborough, making four Championship starts and one substitute appearance.
