This is why Doncaster's Astrabound will stay shut as soft play centres re-open today

Doncaster’s biggest indoor play centre will remain closed today as soft play centres across England prepare to re-open following the easing of coronavirus restrictions.

Soft play centres, bowling alleys, ice rinks and casinos can all return from today – but Doncaster's Astrabound centre will stay closed for a little longer, bosses have said.

A post on the firm’s Facebook page said: “Indoor soft play can re-open from Saturday 15 August.

"However, we will be opening very soon.

Astrabound will hopefully re-open later this week.

"We are now preparing the building in readiness to welcome all our lovely customers whom we’ve missed so much during lockdown.”

The centre, in Crompton Road, Wheatley first opened its doors in Doncaster in 2008 and has welcomed thousands of youngsters since then.

Jeff Ainsley, director of Astrabound said the centre will hopefully re-opening by Friday August 21, but possibly as soon as Wednesday August 19.
