FOR the past few years I have been away on holiday on St Patrick’s Day.
This year I was at home in Sheffield. I was surprised at the fuss that was made for the Irish saint.
By contrast, on Saturday, April 23, St George’s Day, there was nothing – no banner over the Town Hall entrance, no beer marquee, no music. Nothing.
We chose St George to be our patron saint and he should be honoured.
Political correctness in this country has gone mad and we, the English, come second to everybody else.
