Why are there rubber ducks appearing across Rotherham?

People across Rotherham have been going 'quackers' by the latest social media craze, which has taken the internet by storm.

Runners and spectators at the first-ever Rotherham 10K on Sunday may well have spotted rubber ducks in Clifton Park, and they've also been seen outside Rotherham Central railway station and across the town.
