Why Adam Reach is confident Sheffield Wednesday will continue to go from strength to strength

That's the belief of influential Owls midfielder Adam Reach, who starred in their most recent win at Reading.

Luhukay has been unable to call upon Gary Hooper, Kieran Lee, Almen Abdi and Sam Winnall so far this season

Hooper and Lee (both hip) and Abdi (hamstring) are expected to be involved at Under-23 level over the coming weeks as they continue to build up their sharpness and fitness levels while Winnall may be fit for first-team duty come the end of September.

Defenders Daniel Pudil (groin) and Joost van Aken (groin) have also sat-out the last four and five fixtures respectively but should be available for selection after the international break.

Fresh from scoring and claiming an assist in Saturday's hard-earned 2-1 win at Reading, Reach said: "When we have got a full squad fit, everyone knows that we should be looking at the top end of the Championship because we are that good and we have still got players like Gary, Kieran Lee and Sam Winnall to come back.

"It is important for all of them to work hard and come back and it is important for the guys who are fit and ready to keep doing what we are doing.

"Sooner or later when we have got everyone fit we are going to give it a right go."

Confidence is growing at Hillsborough following Wednesday's three-match winning run.

Extending the stays of Barry Bannan and Lucas Joao has also added to the feelgood factor. The pair, who are in a rich vein of form, signed contract extensions last month.

"It is always brilliant that you can secure your top players," said Reach, who felt the Owls delivered 'almost the perfect away performance' on Saturday. "First of all Barry; I think that is now a weight off his shoulders that it has all been sorted out.

"He is really happy here so I think it was just a matter of time before all parties agreed something because we don't want to lose him. He is instrumental for us and we need to keep him fit all season.

"And Lucas came back in and struggled with fitness. He had a few niggles and stuff and couldn't really get going but he has worked hard in the gym and has come back. 

'It is sometimes good that when performances aren't great that someone can come in from injury with no expectations and he [Joao] has not felt the negativity. He has been pivotal. He has turned (things) around with his goals and link up play.'
