A crash described as a ‘police incident’ had caused traffic chaos in Rotherham this afternoon, and diverted bus services.

Officials at the bus operator Stagecoach said they had to put diversions in place earlier this afternoon after what they have described as a road traffic collision, and a police incident, at Whiston Crossroads.
The operator said: “Following the earlier RTC at Whiston Crossroads, All Service 19/19a will be diverting via Broom Lane, Spinneyfields and Moorgate Road. Stops on East Bawtry Road and Whiston Crossroads Will NOT Be Served.”
