If a Sheffield United supporter wrote in to your letters page saying that given the opportunity he would attack a specific named Sheffield Wednesday supporter would you print the letter?
I suspect not and indeed you might even feel that you had a duty to pass such an item to the police.
On August 29 you published a letter from one of your regular correspondents saying that if he ever met Iain Duncan Smith he would let his fists do the talking.
Please explain the difference.
