What planet are you on?

What planet is Dr James Bond on, (Letters, March 23), stating that poverty is the cause of obesity?

He claims that good food is too expensive for those on a low income. Bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, eggs, milk, water, bananas, etc. are all cheap. My local baker charges 76p for a small loaf. A banana costs 10p. A bar of chocolate costs 60p.

He then goes on to say that those on low incomes can’t afford personal trainers or gym membership.

Walking, jogging, squat thrusts and press ups are all free. Swimming and cycling can be done cheaply.

As usual, it is always somebody else’s fault.
