What Jos Luhukay made of Sheffield Wednesday's hammering of Norwich City

It was a fine way to end a season that had for the most part been disappointing.

And Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay was delighted to see his team sign off on this campaign with an impressive 5-1 drubbing of Norwich City at Hillsborough.

Atdhe Nuhiu put the Owls in front and Fernando Forestieri doubled the lead before the break. Frederico Venancio added a third before Nuhiu bagged the fourth and then completed his treble from the penalty spot after Forestieri had been felled in the box.

Luhukay, as well as hailing his players, paid tribute to the fans for their backing throughout a difficult campaign.

"It's fantastic to win 5-1 in your last game at your own stadium," said Luhukay. "We played a good game and created chances to score more goals.

"I thank our fans for their support in the last month. Our fans always stay behind the team. In a difficult period when you're not playing very well, the fans have an important role to play.

"I think we can go into the summer with a very good feeling, and go into pre-season with confidence.

"I hope that we find a positive solution with Atdhe so that he signs a new contract with us. He would like to stay with us and I hope that he stays with us.

"We must relax now a little and also look forward to the new season. We know that we must make decisions in the next two months."
