A national charity, which supports people with disfigurements, has received £5,000 from Sheffield health insurer Westfield Health.
The donation to Changing Faces will help deliver practical and emotional support for people in South Yorkshire living with conditions, marks or scars that affect their appearance.
Catherine Ross, Yorkshire and The Humber Manager at Changing Faces, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Westfield Health for their support.
“Unfortunately it’s common for people with disfigurements to experience self-consciousness and depression. We aim to help people understand their condition and provide support for coping with the psychological and social effects of disfigurement. We believe individuals can lead full, confident, optimistic and satisfying lives.”
