We're making a song and dance to celebrate the return of the St Leger

A FEAST of fun was lined up today to celebrate the return of the world's oldest classic, the St Leger, to Doncaster.

A continental market, racing breakfasts, brunches and lunches, music in the park and a charity ball are all on the menu in the town centre.

After the races today, punters can enjoy the Music in the Park event in Regent Square, featurings an al fresco musical performance from Ti Amero, the classical and pop opera vocal group, who sing at 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

Coun Bill Mordue, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Environment and Housing (East), said: “There’s a fantastic line-up of activities to celebrate St Leger’s homecoming.

“The festival has a positive economic effect on all local businesses, bringing visitors from all over the world into Doncaster.

“We have so much to offer festival-goers outside of racing hours, and these excellent events are a great opportunity for visitors and residents alike to really appreciate what an interesting and cultural town we have.”
