Ten apprentices have been welcomed to their new jobs at construction firm Kier’s sites including Sheffield’s Manor Lane depot.
Youngsters Louis Vaines, Aaron Coulton, Sam Kinsley, Jake Flowers, James Schofield, Connor Russell, Aston Wiltshire, Christopher Marston, Brandon Fixter and Jacey Dixon have been taken on by the firm.
All aged between 16 and 19, the apprentices have been appointed to work across a number of professional trades including painting, plumbing and joinery.
During their time with Kier, the new recruits will move around the business to gain a variety of experience while working towards a full apprenticeship qualification in their chosen trade.
They will also have opportunities to carry out additional training sessions at college and work alongside dedicated mentors who can share their wealth of industry experience.
Kier regional director, Simon Bullen, said: “We are committed to helping young people develop careers.”
