Will it snow in Sheffield this December? Forecasters issue weather update for the week

Forecasters are no longer predicting snow on election day in South Yorkshire tomorrow, with relentless rain showers dominating the weather up until Christmas.

Last week snow was predicted for Sheffield with sub-zero temperatures expected to bring a blanketing on Tuesday and into the second half of the week.

But now all trace of snowy weather has vanished from the forecast, replaced by predictions of rain showers for the next fortnight.

Sheffield will fall in showers all day tomorrow and are predicted up until Christmas Eve.

The temperature is expected to stay above freezing throughout, with lows of 3C over the next two weeks.

Coats will still be needed, though, as the highest temperature predicted is 8C towards the end of the fortnight.

Sheffield Council’s gritters are on call 24/7 should they ever be needed to combat any snow and ice.
