Weather warning for 'strong winds that could disrupt transport' in place for South Yorkshire

A weather warning is in place for South Yorkshire next week, with the Met Office warning that strong winds could disrupt transport.

The yellow warning is in place for Tuesday and Wednesday (August 25 and 26) and comes as heavy rain and showers are also predicted.

The warning says: “Tuesday and Wednesday sees another likely period of strong winds and gales, with some disruption to transport possible.”

Monday’s weather will be fine, with no rain or strong winds forecast. Temperature highs will be around 18C.

Tuesday is a different story, with heavy rain and showers forecast to begin at early as 7am and continue for the rest of the day.

On Wednesday it will rain in the early hours however this will ease off and it will be dry for the rest of the day.

The forecast is also fair for the rest of the week.
