Strong winds are predicted to batter the city today, Friday, January 31, until 10pm, with a yellow weather warning in place from the Met Office for a second consecutive day.

Delays to bus and train services are expected due to the extreme weather. Short term loss of power and other services is also possible, weather experts say.

The weather warning stretches across the north of England and into Scotland.
