Lower-lying areas could also see some snow, though it is not expected to cause significant disruption.

Temperatures have already dropped and are expected to stay low as we head into the weekend, with highs of around 4C and lows of 1C, dipping to below freezing overnight.

This video, shared by The Sheffield Honey Company from its base at Hill Top, near Dungworth, shows some of the first snowflakes falling this evening.

Snow was also spotted in Crookes and Crosspool, though they only experienced a relatively small flurry and it was not expected to settle there as it had been raining.
