Storm Ciara wreaked havoc in Sheffield on Sunday as the worst storm in seven years lashed the area.

The city woke up to a maelstrom as huge trees were torn from their roots, streets and buildings were flooded and a cinema evacuated at the height of the storm.

The storm which had been preceded with an Environment Agency Amber warning built up to a peak around noon with 60mph winds and torrential rain.

And Storm Ciara proved to have yet more wind in her sails later in the evening unleashing more torrents thunder and forked lightning.
