South Yorkshire postcode eligible for £25 Cold Weather Payment as temperatures plummet

Residents in one part of South Yorkshire will receive some money from the Government in the form of ‘cold winter payments’ after a bitterly cold stretch of winter weather in the area.

Cold weather payments are due to some residents who live in an area that was below 0C for seven consecutive days.

And this was the case in the S36 postcode area between 28 December 2020 and 3 January 2021.

Eligible residents in this part of South Yorkshire will automatically be paid £25 for each of the seven days.

Who is eligible?

You may get cold weather payments if you’re getting:

- Pension Credit

- Income Support

- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

- income-related Employment and Support Allowance

- Universal Credit

- Support for Mortgage Interest

When will you get the money?

You should get a payment within 14 working days. It is paid into the same bank or building society account as your benefit payments.

Cold Weather Payments do not affect your other benefits.
