SNOW WARNING: Met Office warns Doncaster will be hit by hours of heavy snow tomorrow

Heavy snow showers have been forecast for Doncaster on Friday with freezing conditions set to continue into this weekend.

Sleet showers overnight are set to turn to heavy downpours from around 5am alongside winds and the snowfall will continue for most of the day.

Another cold night is then predicted, with temperatures just above freezing but feeling as low as minus two degrees.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across large parts of England, including South Yorkshire, which will remain in place until Saturday.

Sunny intervals are forecast for Saturday in Doncaster but it will still feel cold with the temperature around freezing level.

Temperatures will increase a little on Sunday to between four and five degrees throughout the day and slightly warmer weather is predicted next week, with no snowfall expected at this stage.
