Snow forecast to hit Sheffield tomorrow as Met Office extends weather warning

The higher parts of the Sheffield area will continue to face wintry showers with a yellow warning for snow and ice still in force.

Today will be breezy with a mixture of sunny spells and wintry showers, these mainly over the hills. Generally drier and brighter in the east of the region. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight wintry showers will be continuing mainly over the hills, with some clear spells in the east initially. Cloud thickening overnight, with rain and hill snow later in the night. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice across much of the UK on Thursday.

Motorists have been advised to take extra care on the roads.
