Bin collections delayed for second day
Veolia has shared an update apologizing that they have been unable to collect some bins for the second day running due to the snow.
The contractors are asking households to continue to leave their bins out as they will be working on both Saturday and Sunday to collect bins.
The company wrote in an update: “Due to snow and ice, we were unable to complete all bin collections due Thursday 9 and Friday 10 March.
“If your collection has not yet taken place, please continue to leave your bin out until it has been emptied.
“We will be working on both Saturday 11 March and Sunday 12 March to recover any collections that have not taken place. However, if conditions mean that we cannot recover all collections this weekend, please continue to leave your bin out.
“Due to unsafe conditions all HWRC [Household Waste Recycling Centre] sites will be closed Friday 10 March. We hope to have all five sites open again from Saturday 11th March, however residents are advised to check our website for further updates before visiting.”
