Sheffield weather forecast: A dry, cloudy start to Boxing Day before heavy downpours

A dry, cloudy start to Boxing Day in Sheffield is expected to make way for occasional heavy downpours in the afternoon.

The Met Office said the city will likely see heavier busts at first, before turning light and patchy through the day with a maximum temperature of 6°C.

But it will remain cloudy through the night as the patchy rain in the evening will ease with a minimum temperature of 4°C.

And it will continue to be wet on Friday (December 27) as outbreaks of rain will spread eastwards through the morning, possibly heavier for a time.

It will turn drier through the afternoon with the odd brighter break, but most will be cloudy with maximum temperature of 9°C.

The Met Office gave its outlook for the weekend where it will be mainly dry with some bright or sunny spells before it turns cooler through Monday with possible rain.
