Sheffield weather forecast: A cloudy yet sunny start but this is when to expect heavy rain

It will be a cloudy start on the morning of Sunday, December 8, with sunny intervals in between.

However, as we reach midday, heavy rain is expected to hit with temperatures dropping to 6°C.

The sun will break through again at 1pm before bringing in light rain as we reach the late afternoon. The temperature will reach 7°C by 1pm before cooling off as the day goes on, however it will feel much colder.

Early evening will see skies become clearer, with more showers which are set to hit at around 6pm. They may continue throughout the night. Expect an overnight temperature of around 5°C, but it will feel more like 2°C.

Meanwhile across Yorkshire and The Humber, we can expect a very windy day, with strong gusts likely, especially across the Pennines, but also to lower levels.

Sunny spells and occasional showers are expected through the day. Showers will be heavy and blustery at times, especially in the west with a maximum temperature 7 °C.

Monday, December 9, will start cloudy but is predicted to be sunny from around 8am with less rain forecast. A maximum temperature of 6°C is expected.

The Met Office outlook for the region from Tuesday, December 10, to Thursday, December 12 said: “Very windy Tuesday, with rain spreading east, heavy and squally during the afternoon. Gusty winds continuing Wednesday, with sunshine and blustery showers. Winds easing Thursday, but chance of further rain.”
