In the heavy snow which has been coming down since this morning, people have tried to go about their lives as usual.
For some this means simply wrapping up warm to walk the dog or walk to work, for others it means traffic chaos due to closed roads or diverted buses, and for the lucky few, it means making snowmen with family.
