The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Sheffield, which is in place until 9pm tonight.

Public transport across the city has been ‘severely disrupted’ by the snow, with buses, trams and some train journeys suspended.

More than 50 South Yorkshire schools have also been forced to close to children of key workers.

Sheffield could see more heavy snow on Saturday, with a weather warning also in place.
