A yellow weather warning has seen Sheffield battered by heavy rain in the last 24 hours- but how long will the downpour last?

The weather alert, which was issued by the Met Office last night and will be in place until 12pm today (Tuesday, March 10) warned of possible travel disruption, power cuts and flooding across South Yorkshire due to heavy rain.

The good news is that the showers will ‘quickly die out’ over the course of the day and we could even see some sunny spells. It will be windy, but mild.

Expect another windy and blustery day tomorrow (Wednesday, March 11), when you’ll need your big coat as it will also feel ‘rather cold’.

On Thursday we’ll see yet more rain and showers, with some sushine as well.

It will be less windy on Friday, with showers becoming more isolated.
