Rainy day expected as runners prepare to take on Sheffield Half Marathon
Runners are tying their shoelaces and heading to the start line of this year’s Sheffield Half Marathon - though the weather doesn’t seem to be holding out for them.
Thousands of people are set to flood the city centre this morning as runners take on the annual Sheffield Half Marathon.

And while the event will still be one of joy, as people put on fancy dress and brave Sheffield’s hills to support charities close to their heart, it may be a bit wetter than people were hoping for.
The Met Office has suggested that there is a 95 per cent chance of rain today.
Drizzles are expected from as early as 10am, with rain following until the afternoon.
Wind speeds will also pick up, reaching 18mph by 1pm, while the temperature will remain below 10 degrees throughout the day.
Runners are set to begin their journey at 9am, with most hopefully missing the worst of the bad weather.
