Catcliffe residents whose homes and villages flooded in 2007 are now under water again - re-living the nightmare of the last serious flood.
Some were evacuated in the middle of the night by firefighters knocking at their doors to alert them to rising water levels, with up to 250 properties needing to be evacuated, according to the Environment Agency.
An evacuation boat from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue is being used to get residents to safety.
Alex Booth, who lives in the village but is on high enough ground to have avoided the flooding, said: "It is devastating. It is horrendous news for them, and they have had flooding like this before."
