Motorists have been faced with flooded roads across South Yorkshire as Storm Dennis has tightened its grip on the UK.

Flooding closed off part of a Parkway junction, at Sheffield, as drivers could not make their way to the Macro store near the Handsworth area of the city.

The Met Office issued warnings for dangerous wind and rain for today, Sunday, February 16, as Storm Dennis continues to wreak havoc across Sheffield.

The yellow weather warning for rain is in place until 9pm.

Deep Carr River was reported to have broken its banks and Meadowhall Interchange has struggled due to high water levels in the River Don affecting the Supertram.

Due to flooding, the railway at Rotherham Central has also become blocked and services running through this station are expected to be cancelled with disruption until the end of the day.

Downpours are expected to ease off later today, Sunday, February 16.
