Met Office says Sheffield will feel as cold as minus 9C tonight as big chill continues
It will feel like -9C tonight as the Beast from the East maintains its icy grip on the city.
Temperatures are forecast to dip to -3C this evening, Friday, February 12 and into the early hours of Saturday.
But the Met Office says it will feel six degrees colder, taking into account wind speeds and humidity.
It is expected to feel like -9C between 3am and 8am on Saturday and the mildest it will feel throughout tomorrow is -6C, with the actual temperature peaking at 0C between 1pm and 4pm.
Things are expected to get a bit warmer on Sunday, with a maximum temperature of 3C and rain forecast for much of the afternoon.
The cold snap is finally due to end on Monday, with a top temperature of 10C feeling positively balmy compared to the recent Arctic conditions.
Next week looks set to start off cloudy, with Monday being mostly dry but a mixture of light and heavy rain on Tuesday.
