Met Office issues urgent Sheffield weather warning for three days of snow

South Yorkshire is braced for three days of snow and ice after the Met Office issue a yellow weather warning.

A yellow warning of ice comes into effect across Yorkshire and Humber from 4pm today until tomorrow morning, with warnings of difficult driving conditions, icy surfaces and icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Meanwhile, a yellow warning of snow is in place from 5am to 6pm on Saurday, with warnings of snow, heavy at times leading to potential travel disruption and possible travel delays

And on Monday, a fresh weather warning has been issued, with three days of snow forecast from 9pm on Monday through to 23.45 on Wednesday.

A spokesman said: “Snow, with a risk of widespread ice, is likely to push slowly northeast from late Monday, bringing difficult travel conditions.

“There will be possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers, with bus and train services potentially delayed or cancelled.”
