Met Office forecasts the three days snow is set to hit Sheffield this week

Weather forecasters have predicted that snow could fall on three days in Sheffield this week.

Today rain, sleet and snow will increasingly turn to rain with icy stretches possible for a time. Rain and hill snow will clear in the afternoon and it will be windy, especially across hills. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight it will be windy and cold. There will be clear spells, with just a few wintry showers and some icy patches. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Tuesday will be less windy than Monday. A few snow showers could make their way across from the west, but it will mostly be dry with bright spells. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

There is a yellow warning for ice in the Penistone area on Tuesday.

Snow is forecast from 8pm on Tuesday to 3am Wednesday. Wednesday to Friday it will be cold, with a few snow showers, but some bright spells.
