Hour-by-hour Sheffield weather forecast: When is Storm Christoph going to ease?
Dry and sunny day is in store for Sheffield and the rest of South Yorkshire on Thursday as Storm Christoph is expected to ease by midday today.
The Met Office said however the day will have a cold start with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow but the city can expect more sunny spells towards the end of the day.
Forecasters had previously warned that Storm Christoph would bring widespread flooding, gales and snow to parts of the UK with 'danger to life' amber warning in place.
A major incident was also declared in South Yorkshire and people were urged to prepare for possible flooding in their area.
According to the Met Office, Sheffield will be likely dry by the end of today but winds will remain brisk throughout with a maximum temperature of 5°C.
Tonight, clear spells and easing winds will bring a cold but mostly dry night where icy patches and frost are possible as the temperature dips to -2°C.
