According to the Met Office, Sheffield will be likely dry by the end of today but winds will remain brisk throughout with a maximum temperature of 5°C.

Tonight, clear spells and easing winds will bring a cold but mostly dry night where icy patches and frost are possible as the temperature dips to -2°C.

Despite the promising outlook, people have been warned to prepare for severe cold weather with icy conditions and heavy snow in a few days to come.
