Hour-by-hour weather forecast: When Storm Christoph rain is set to stop in Sheffield

Heavy rain continued to fall across the city overnight, and the Met Office said the wet weather will continue until this evening (January 20).
On Monday, the Met Office sounded an amber weather warning for Sheffield, which is valid from 6am yesterday through midday on Thursday.

Hide AdThe forecasters also warned that the storm will bring severe cold weather with icy conditions and heavy snow.
On Wednesday, Sheffield will have a mild start to the day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle but will turn heavy and persistent especially over higher ground, with a maximum temperature of 11°C.
It will be colder tonight with period of heavy rain expected to continue with the risk of sleet and hill snow through the early hours as the temperature dips to 1°C.
But on Thursday, outbreaks of rain, sleet and hill snow will be gradually clearing, followed by sunny spells and scattered wintry showers.

Hide AdFive flood alerts have also been issued for the Sheffield region – for Blackburn Brook, Middle River Don, River Sheaf and Porter Brook, Upper Derwent in Derbyshire and the Upper River Don catchment.
