Hour-by-hour Sheffield weather forecast: Met Office issues urgent yellow warning for rain
More rain is forecast to fall in Sheffield today according to the Met Office, which has issued a yellow weather warning for rain across the region.
The forecasters said spells of prolonged and often heavy rain will continue to affect parts of England, before clearing from most areas this evening.
According to the Met Office 20-40 mm of rain will fall quite widely, with a few locations seeing 50-70 mm within around 12 hours - the wettest weather is likely to be over parts of East Anglia, the East Midlands and south east England, as far west as Hampshire.
Some thunder and lightning is also possible, most likely over parts of East Anglia and southeast England but heavy rain is the main hazard.
This also means spells of heavy rain may lead to some travel disruption and flooding, with thunder possible towards eastern coasts.
In Sheffield, occasional heavy rain is expected during the afternoon, with a maximum temperature of 18°C on Friday.
But Saturday will see the early rain clear, with variable cloud cover will allow warm sunny spells to develop, but a few showers are still expected as the temperature is expected to reach 21°C.
Meanwhile, cloudy with occasionally heavy, thundery rain is expected on Sunday and perhaps a few heavy showers with some sunny intervals are forecast on Monday.
