Yesterday (January 14) deep snow all over the city caused all public transport to be suspended, disruptions on the roads and schools to close to children of key workers.

Covid-19 vaccinations were cancelled as people were unable to get to surgeries, and many of Sheffield’s surrounding areas remain ‘snowed in’.

And while snow is still thick on the ground in many parts of the city, the Met Office has indicated that it is unlikely to snow any more today in Sheffield.

There will in fact be sunny spells throughout the day, however the temperatures will still be below freezing.

A travel warning is still in place due to ice. There is also one in place for tomorrow for snow and ice.

The Met Office has said there will be: “Rain, sleet and snow dying out, leaving a risk of icy surfaces and difficult travel conditions.
