Heavy SNOW forecast for some parts of Sheffield TONIGHT: Hour-by-hour weather forecast

A Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice is in force for the Sheffield area.

Today will be cold day with sunny spells and scattered showers. These will be heavy at times, with many falling as a mix of rain and hail with snow settling on higher ground. Strong winds throughout, especially over the Pennines. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight The showery theme will continue through this evening and overnight. Some showers may merge into longer spells of rain through the early hours. Chilly in the wind and rain. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Some areas of Sheffield, including Stannington, have been forecast heavy snow at 7pm with light snow predicted throughout the evening, overnight and into the morning.
