Heavy rain and possible flooding forecast for South Yorkshire this weekend, as weather warning is issued
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and potential flooding in South Yorkshire lasting throughout Saturday and Sunday.
The warning states that the heavy rain could bring some flooding and transport disruption in the area. Spray could also make driving in some areas difficult, and could lead to road closures.
The heaviest rain is expected on Saturday, which will be subject to downpours without pause throughout. On Sunday the rain is forecast to stop in the early hours, and to resume, albeit a little lighter, for the rest of the day.
By 10pm on Sunday night it could be dry again.
Temperatures in South Yorkshire throughout the weekend will peak between 12C and 14C, with lows of around 9C on Saturday and 7C on Sunday.
The Met Office said that any chance of flooding is small, however if there is any it could lead to road closures or issues with power.
