Flooding advice issued for Sheffield following heavy rain forecast

With heavy rain forecast over the next few days, the council has issued advice to residents to ensure the city is prepared.

Monday, 18th January 2021, 7:11 pm

Streets Ahead, the council’s highway contractor, is prioritising gully cleaning around known flooding hotspots and preparing its operatives to respond swiftly should localised flooding occur.

With rain expected to start this evening of Monday 18th January and continue until Thursday 21st, we would advise people to travel only where absolutely necessary and only for essential reasons, in line with current Covid restrictions.
