We were conned

In answer to KP, S2, I was working for Stanley Tools, Ecclesfield, at the time of the Common Market referendum.

The management came round and advised us to vote to go in, we did.

We were all conned.

Within months, hammer heads were coming over from Zublonda for Stanley to glaze and finish off.

Then they were packed back up and sent back to Zublonda.

Stanley Tools at Ecclesfield and Woodside no longer exists.

It was a sad day and a costly one when we joined up, let’s hope we ordinary people see sense and vote out.
