I HAVE just read Mrs C Diaper’s letter regarding her two daughters’ respite home, Rushey Meadows.
My concern is at the other end of the age scale.
My sister is 54 and has learning difficulties and after 51 years of being looked after by mum, aged 80, she moved to a lovely residential home called Newfield View which may close if the government doesn’t get their priorities right.
My sister and seven more people think of Newfield View as their home where they are looked after by a wonderful team of carers.
I can imagine the return of the old mental institutions if these people are not cared for as they should be in 2011 not the 1800s.
